SPECIAL NEEDS PARENTING
When my son Josiah was diagnosed with autism, I was heartbroken. I found myself suffering from depression, crying out to God... “Why Him? Why Me?” But eventually I re-discovered a higher purpose. There’s something truly special this world needs that can be fulfilled by “Only Him...& Only Me! When I began the challenging journey of raising a child with autism, I became aware of how isolating it could be. When you have a child with special needs, there’s no inside scoop or book to prepare you for what’s to come. This was my motivation to become an advocate, to steer parents of autistic and special needs kids away from depression and hopelessness. I’ve joined autism organizations in every city we’ve lived in, and remain active in providing Lovestyles and invaluable insights on ways to navigate the full system.
When you’ve embraced life’s call and decide to move forward you wear a mantel that’s especially anointed only for you to wear. Regardless of what the task may be, when you’ve put your hands to the plow, there’s no turning back, from the trials, trepidation and tears that go hand in hand with it.
